Jordan's 50th Birthday Week



This week everyone’s favorite sports hero, Michael Jordan, is turning 50 years old. Jordan and Tinker, have impacted the fashion and sneaker world dramatically since 1985. Jordan's revenue to Nike, the state of Chicago, and his brand led companies to start looking at prospects at even the high school or younger level. Although they cannot sign a contract till their 18 these players wear shoes for the future sponsors hoping to become the next Jordan. To celebrate MJ’s 50th, this week ESPN will be reflecting on Jordan’s legacy, Yesterday they started with this segment “Gotta Be The Shoes”. The video shoes how Jordan's brand took off and changed the world of sponsors, shoe deals, and fashion for all pro athletes even today.

Newest J's: Jordan III' Retro Bright Crimson

The news was released right at the end of last year. Jordan is set to release multiple retro OG color inspired shoes in the early first quarter of this year. This Crimson retro inspired remake is set to release on 2/23/13. These shoes are similar to the recently announced AJ III "Joker's". Recent updates confirm they'll come with an OG inspired hang tag and red crimson laces attached as well.
