April Releases

April’s coming in hot with the release of the Nike Basketball Elite 2.0 Collection, the Air Jordan VIII “Bugs”, the launch of the Nike Eric Koston 2, and the return of the Shaq signature line from Reebok Classics.  My favorite is the Shaq Reebok Classics. I hope to pick these up they look a little tall but clean and the color scheme is sweet.

Another one of my favorites is the Barkley "Sixers". Crazy color scheme and huge price tag, definitely won't be buying these but for the hardcore sneaker heads these will be a long time classic and must have.

Easter Sunday!

Easter's just around the corner and guess what comes along with it. Easter shoe collections! KD 5's, Kobe 8, Lebron 10, Spizike's, Foamposites, Lunar Force and more will all be getting an Easter revamp. The KD's will release March 29th and come with a price tag of $135. Kobe's follow a similar color scheme and will release the same day at $150. The most outlandish is the Foamposites that come in a White Out color scheme. The Green and blue scheme is most popular. March Madness Foamposite Tournament

The bracket has been made! For the past two years sneaker news has created their own form of march madness deciding which style or color is the best for a specific shoe category. In the original big dance the Jordan XI's were crowned the most popular Jordan's of all time. In the following year the AJ V "Raging Bulls" were deemed the non original retro ever created. My personal favorite would be the fighter jet's who I could see making an upset run and possibly taking the crown. Check out sneaker news for their full coverage on the 2013 Posite tournament.

Soles4Souls

Soles4Souls collects new shoes to give relief to the victims of suffering and collects used shoes to help eradicate poverty. Soles4Souls is in a joint relief effort with Clothes4Souls and Hope4Souls to help provide clothing and other necessities. Soles4Souls receives large donations from footwear companies, retailers, churches, civic groups, schools, and many other individuals trying to make a difference. Air Jordan 5 "Grapes"

First released in 1990 then retro released in 2006 the 5 Grapes are making another return. The shoe features a white base with emerald green and the shoes signature "grape ice". The shoe is detailed with white leather base, emerald insole, and netting on the side panels. The 5's are said to have the best structural design and have sold the most from the Air Jordan line. The shoe is set to release on 5/4/13 and will come retail for $160 and $115 for girls sizes. Worth the price however considering after many poles these may be the must have shoes of the year. The lines will be crazy and ticket sellers will make a good profit but these shoes are definitely a must have.

    

Jordan's 50th Birthday Week

This week everyone’s favorite sports hero, Michael Jordan, is turning 50 years old. Jordan and Tinker, have impacted the fashion and sneaker world dramatically since 1985. Jordan's revenue to Nike, the state of Chicago, and his brand led companies to start looking at prospects at even the high school or younger level. Although they cannot sign a contract till their 18 these players wear shoes for the future sponsors hoping to become the next Jordan. To celebrate MJ’s 50th, this week ESPN will be reflecting on Jordan’s legacy, Yesterday they started with this segment “Gotta Be The Shoes”. The video shoes how Jordan's brand took off and changed the world of sponsors, shoe deals, and fashion for all pro athletes even today.

Newest J's: Jordan III' Retro Bright Crimson

The news was released right at the end of last year. Jordan is set to release multiple retro OG color inspired shoes in the early first quarter of this year. This Crimson retro inspired remake is set to release on 2/23/13. These shoes are similar to the recently announced AJ III "Joker's". Recent updates confirm they'll come with an OG inspired hang tag and red crimson laces attached as well. However the price is not yet official but compared to the similar AJ III's and early pre-sales (ebay presales) they will be in the ballpark of $200.
